It can be hard to keep a bedroom tidy all the time. We see beautiful bedrooms on social media and always wonder where everything is kept. I often get asked on Instagram how I keep my bedrooms so tidy and although I can’t promise they look pristine all the time, there is a way to manage the mess. My secret – storage, and lots of it! To start with, we had a Hammond’s fitted wardrobe installed in our master bedroom which was included with our Redrow home. This is a large triple wardrobe in their Vigo range. We chose the mid walnut finish, a lovely warm natural colour which suited our decor perfectly. We chose sliding doors which are perfect for a smaller space. The soft close doors available in both the hinged and sliding doors also add that touch of luxury to your bedroom. This wardrobe has given us so much storage and all the mess is now hidden behind closed doors. The best thing about Hammond's fitted wardrobes is that they are floor to ceiling height so you can maximise your storage space while still achieving a stylish look. My advice is to go for the largest size the room can take, without it looking too cramped. People always ask where I keep everything but I can fit so much in my bedside tables as they are actually quite large and measure approximately 75cm high and 60cm wide. They don’t often look that large in photos as they are next to my super king bed which is very tall. We also went for the matching chest of drawers which allows us even more storage without cluttering the room. The Vigo range comes in many different sizes so you can choose the best size for the space you have. Another great way to create more storage is to include an ottoman, if you have the extra space. We have this gorgeous bench ottoman from Next (click here) which has loads of storage inside and also creates a glamorous seating area. We have put ours in the bay window but they also look great at the end of a bed. When it comes to guest rooms, you may not need as much storage as your own bedroom but it’s always good to have the option. We recently invested in some more Hammond’s furniture for our guest room. As my family live quite far from me they often visit for longer periods of time so it’s nice to have the extra storage for them when they visit. We opted for the Harpsden white range, they have lovely deep drawers with plenty of room inside. I think bedside tables look better when the height matches the height of your bed, to create a streamlined look. With these bedside tables we also added the option of a tea tray. These are perfect for guests to have a cup of tea in bed or great for storing smaller items. We have added an ottoman in here too which is great for keeping extra bedding and towels for your guests. This ottoman can be found here. We plan to get matching furniture for our guest room in the Harpsden range from Hammond’s to complete the room. It’s a beautiful classic range of furniture and is also available in several finishes. For a closer look click here.
Every item has a place in my house now and I have storage for everything as I hate too much clutter. When buying any item of furniture I will always consider the storage options first and I find it much easier to keep my bedroom tidy.
